Mexican white boy part 1

During the reading, Uno Punched danny in the head, apparently because danny cracked the tennis ball, and hit manuel in the face with the stickball bat on accident. In the book, the by-standers may think that uno beat danny up because he hit manuel, however, I, the reader can tell that there is probably some deeper meaning to the punch. Although we've only read about 30 pages into the book, we can already tell that uno  is full of pride, and that he might have punched danny because he hit manuel, and also maybe because danny just shows up, on HIS block, and shows him up, anybody would feel hurt, but i think uno took especially bad because he has this huge reputation that he needs to keep up, so he can remain the "top dog" in the col-de-sac.
